Artist Assistant- Casual Employment

Position Summary:
The Artist Assistant provides assistance to Production, Programming and Arts Education Departments in meeting the catering and hospitality needs and additional support (as needed) of visiting artists, crew and staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Receive artists and their staff and escort them to dressing rooms and specific support spaces.
Familiarize the visiting companies with the backstage area.
Guarantee proper set-up of hospitality for the visiting company and artists.
Attend to the special needs of individual artists and groups.
Coordinate outside food requests as necessary and be able to direct to area restaurants.
Assist visiting production staff with various tasks, i.e. backstage lists, ticket coordination, copying, temperature control of dressing rooms.
Ensure cleanliness and comfort of dressing rooms and backstage areas.
Assist backstage traffic during and after performance/event.
Keep the supply storage organized and ensure that stock remains replenished.
Coordinate with Security regarding artist movements and escorting needs.
Complete special projects as requested by Production staff.
Qualifications And Special Requirements:
Ability to work independently.
Excellent communication, hospitality and people skills.
Dress requirements vary per show/event from casual, business casual, upscale business.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to establish effective priorities.
Prior experience in Guest Services and/or the Arts (ex. Dressing Room Coordinator or Talent Wrangler) is a plus but not required.
Ability to be productive and proactive.
Must be able to drive/have a driver’s license. Having a car is a plus.
Occasional long days/late nights required.
