Designer/Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Designer/Engineer to join our team. This position is to replace a team member relocating due to family reasons. Initially, you will focus on designing and simple modeling of parts and pieces needed for systems and fabrication drawings, under the guidance of a lead or project engineer. As you gain experience and knowledge, you will progress to updating models and parts, and eventually, you will engage in full product design. You will also participate in fieldwork, taking measurements, examining systems, participating in project kickoffs, planning, and overseeing customer signoffs through design and equipment installation.
Responsibilities
Start as a designer, creating simple models and fabrication drawings.
Update models and parts from the Vault as directed.
Grow into full product design responsibilities.
Conduct fieldwork, including measurements and system assessments.
Participate in project kickoffs, planning, and customer signoffs.
Support the shop floor and work closely with fabricators and welders.
Ensure final products meet requirements and drawings are accurate.
Essential Skills
2+ years of experience with Autodesk Inventor.
Ability to create part drawings, assembly drawings, and fabrication drawings.
Proficiency in steel fabrication drawings, typically 1/4 inch or thicker.
Experience working with BOMs, weld symbols, notes, and blocks.
Ability to use a tape measure accurately.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate's degree in drafting or equivalent.
Experience in a fabrication environment.
Work Environment The work environment is relaxed and supportive, with a focus on teamwork and resource sharing. You will have your own workspace and will be expected to work independently with occasional guidance. Extra hours may be required during the busy season from October to March. The role includes 25% travel to customer sites for measurements. We offer six paid holidays, one week of PTO, and a comprehensive health benefits plan. Our organization is dynamic and is moving to a new, more spacious office soon, offering stability and growth opportunities.

Pay & Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00 per hour.
