Part-Time
Music Therapist
to join its growing multi-disciplinary team. Establish music therapy treatment goals following the assessment process (parent interview, assessment review, and dynamic evaluation). Consult closely with multi-disciplinary team members to create collaborative treatment plans and integrative strategies. Provide individual therapy sessions as well as group and/or co-treats with other disciplines as therapeutically appropriate. Maintain patient records, documentation, and appropriate billing in accordance with federal and state regulations and company policy to ensure high standard of care. Design musical interventions to promote nonmusical treatment goals in sensorimotor, communicative, cognitive, and social-emotional domains, considering an individual’s sensory processing and regulation. Facilitate functional and stimulating experiences to target and achieve individualized goals. Collaborate with the individual and family to understand their values, interests, and goals. Implement programming that considers all aspects of the child, including sensorimotor, cognitive, communicative, recreational, and social activities. Contribute to program development and educate patients, families, team members, and caregivers on home programs that complement treatment. Deliver at least 27 hours of direct patient care per week, excluding training, documentation, and administrative meetings. Follow safety guidelines and accommodations as needed to perform essential job functions. Handle occasional lifting and/or moving up to 40 pounds as part of the role. Qualifications
Board certification through CBMT, credentialed as Music Therapist-Board Certified (MT-BC). Bachelor’s degree and experience working as an MT-BC with children. Proficiency on guitar, piano, and voice; strong clinical skills. Desire to work in a multi-disciplinary clinical setting; flexible and willing to learn. Appreciation for a wide range of therapeutic approaches; passion for working with children. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient information. Experience with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office products.
