About the Role This is a full‑time, 80hrs/fortnight (incl. ADO) fixed‑term position in the Child Life Therapy and Music Therapy department. The four‑month fixed term contract (FTC) is for one year, commencing 23rd February 2026.

Music Therapy is part of Allied Health and includes a team of Registered Music Therapists who provide clinical music therapy services to infants, children and adolescents with a range of medical conditions. The team supports patients through targeted therapy sessions to assist with aspects of their hospital experience. The aim is to use music to provide treatment support, mental health support and neuro‑developmental support through a range of face‑to‑face services and resources. You will be responsible for delivering excellent music‑therapy services to patients and families while working closely with music‑therapy staff, medical, nursing and other allied health staff.

Classification for this position will be GA3 (base salary $70,590 per annum pro‑rata, plus superannuation and salary packaging).

To Be Successful in This Role You Will Have

Excellent music skills.

Current Registered Music Therapist (RMT) status with the Australian Music Therapy Association or MT‑BC or equivalent.

Thorough knowledge of music therapy for infants, children and young people, including neuro‑development and mental health needs.

Effective communication strategies to maintain excellent interdisciplinary team dynamics.

Ability to work in the best interests of children and families in a family‑centred way.
