About Us
CAD Designer – Survey Division: We are currently seeking a detail-oriented CAD Designer with experience supporting surveying and land development projects. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience preparing CAD drawings from field survey data, working with boundary, topographic, and construction layout surveys, and collaborating closely with survey crews and project engineers.
This position will play a key role in transforming raw field data into accurate, professional deliverables that support engineering design and construction projects across the Central Ohio region.
What You’ll Do
Develop and edit survey drawings including boundary, topographic, ALTA, easement, and construction staking plans.
Create and maintain base maps, surfaces, and line work from field-collected data.
Coordinate with engineers and survey staff to ensure drawings are accurate and consistent with project requirements.
Data Management
Import and process field data from GPS, total stations, and data collectors.
Maintain organized CAD files, survey databases, and supporting documentation.
Integrate data from multiple sources, such as GIS or utility mapping.
Project Coordination
Collaborate closely with survey crews, project managers, and CAD team members.
Assist with quality control of drawings and survey deliverables.
Provide technical support for survey data reduction and drafting needs.
Software Proficiency
Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce high-quality, survey-based drawings.
Generate surfaces, contours, and alignments from field data.
Utilize survey-specific tools and workflows to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Quality Control
Review drawings for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company standards.
Identify and correct drafting inconsistencies and data errors before project delivery.
Additional Notes
Occasional overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
Field experience or understanding of survey equipment (GPS, total stations, etc.) is a plus.
Requirements
Associate degree or certificate in Civil Engineering Technology, Surveying, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of CAD drafting experience, preferably supporting land surveying or site/civil projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D required.
Familiarity with survey principles, coordinate systems, and field-to-finish workflows.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
