Position Summary
The Public Relations Coordinator supports the organization's PR and communication initiatives by assisting in media relations, content creation, event coordination, and brand management. This role involves building and maintaining a positive public image, preparing press materials, monitoring media coverage, and coordinating PR campaigns. The PR Coordinator ensures consistent messaging across all channels and assists in strengthening relationships with stakeholders, media, and the public.

The Public Relations Coordinator supports the organization's PR and communication initiatives by assisting in media relations, content creation, event coordination, and brand management. This role involves building and maintaining a positive public image, preparing press materials, monitoring media coverage, and coordinating PR campaigns. The PR Coordinator ensures consistent messaging across all channels and assists in strengthening relationships with stakeholders, media, and the public.
Key Responsibilities
- Media & Communications
- Draft press releases, media statements, and other PR materials.
- Coordinate with journalists, bloggers, and media outlets for coverage.
- Maintain media contact lists and distribute PR content.
- Content & Social Media Support
- Assist in creating content for social media, websites, and newsletters.
- Monitor media coverage, social media mentions, and public sentiment.
- Support campaigns to promote organizational initiatives and events.
- Event Coordination
- Assist in organizing PR events, press conferences, and promotional activities.
- Coordinate logistics, invitations, and media attendance for events.
- Document and report on event outcomes and engagement metrics.
- Brand & Stakeholder Management
- Ensure consistent brand messaging across all communications.
- Support internal communications and employee engagement initiatives.
- Assist in building relationships with stakeholders, partners, and the community.
- Reporting & Analysis
- Track PR campaign performance and media coverage.
- Prepare reports and presentations for management on PR activities.
- Suggest improvements based on analysis and media feedback.
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in PR, communications, or media relations.
- Experience in social media management, content creation, or event coordination is preferred.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Creativity and attention to detail in crafting messages and campaigns.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams and external partners.
- Familiarity with media monitoring tools and PR software is a plus.
