The Miriam and Ira D. Wallach Division of Art, Prints and Photographs, established in 1987 thanks to a gift from the Wallach family, unites what had formerly been four separate departments under a single banner. Divisional holdings comprise works of art as well as reference materials on painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, photography and the history of architecture from prehistoric times to the present. The Wallach Division also serves as the access point to the Spencer Collection of fine bindings and illustrated books. Together, these collections include more than one million works of art in various mediums and formats, complemented by nearly 700,000 monographs and periodicals. The quality, depth and scope of these holdings have earned the Wallach Division an international reputation among a broad variety of scholars and lovers of art. As a page you will help assist in the upkeep and service of this division. You will be held to the standards that have been maintained throughout the years. The library page position is scheduled for 19 hours per week, including evenings and Saturdays. Schedules are variable based on library needs and may be subject to change. Key Responsibilities

Under the direction of a Page supervisor, the Library Page: Projects a positive and courteous attitude to the public by providing exceptional customer service Assist with the running and processing of requested items Reshelve items in proper locations Assist patrons with basic computer, internet and audio/visual equipment usage Assist staff with technical processing of damaged and/or repaired material Performs other technical related tasks as needed Performs other related tasks as needed Skills Knowledge & Expertise

Current enrollment in a degree program at an accredited school, proper employment certificate for minors under 18 as required by NYS law, ability to accurately and efficiently sort and arrange items in alphanumeric order, strong organizational skills and ability to follow detailed instruction in a fast-paced environment, excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with a diverse patronage, superb interpersonal and communication skills, strong problem-solving skills, demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, demonstrated reliability and professionalism, basic computer and basic technology skills such as Microsoft Office Suite and Google Applications. Preferred Qualifications

Ability to troubleshoot basic computer and printer issues preferred, experience with eReaders and library technologies preferred, ability to speak foreign languages preferred. Core Values
