Sigma Design has collaborated with a global leader in audio technologies engineering and product development seeking an experienced Electrical / Electronics Engineer to join their facility in Vancouver, WA.

Base Pay Range

$125,000.00/yr – $140,000.00/yr

Primary Function

The Electrical / Electronics Engineer is responsible for supporting the design validation, testing, and production support of audio systems ranging from Bluetooth speakers and wireless subwoofers to high‑power Class D amplifiers. The engineer will collaborate closely with the Seattle‑based EE lead, local project management and mechanical engineering teams, and international partners across China, Vietnam, and other global sites.

Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities

  • Conduct electrical validation testing on subwoofer amplifiers, Bluetooth speakers, and related systems using Audio Precision test equipment.
  • Perform analog, digital, and power circuit analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Evaluate and integrate new DSPs, microcontrollers, ADCs/DACs, and other ICs for prototype development.
  • Develop and test embedded C/C++ firmware for ARM‑based systems (non‑RTOS).
  • Support factory engineers in China and Vietnam through design reviews, prototyping, and technical issue resolution.
  • Review safety, EMC, and reliability documentation to ensure compliance with international standards.
  • Collaborate with mobile app and wireless IC development teams to optimize system performance.
  • Create technical test reports, evaluation summaries, and recommendations for design improvement.
  • Support customer engineering and marketing teams through all phases of product life—from concept through post‑production field issues.
  • Identify and qualify component substitutions for obsolete or long‑lead parts.
  • Maintain familiarity with UL, CE, FCC, and other certification requirements.
  • Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences.

Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)

  • BSEE or EET degree required.
  • 5–7 years of experience in Bluetooth, analog/digital, power, or audio electronics design.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems.
  • Hands‑on experience with breadboarding, soldering, and troubleshooting complex electronics.
  • Strong understanding of Class D amplification (20–1000W range).
  • Ability to work with overseas factory teams and communicate effectively across cultures (no language fluency required).
  • Experience with safety and EMC certification processes.
  • Audio Precision test system experience. Preferred.
  • Compliance (background check, ITAR, vaccine, etc.)
  • ITAR – Permanent resident of the United States (“U.S. person” as defined by ITAR).
  • Background – Pass a post‑offer background verification.
  • Background and drug screen – pass a post‑offer background verification and drug screen.

Engineering

Standard office environment with normal amounts of office‑related conditions. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation. Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients, or suppliers.
