Media Director
Location: Tulsa, OK | Reports to: Managing Partner
As Media Director, you’ll lead the charge in building integrated, insight-driven media plans that bring brand stories to life and connect with real people in real ways. You’ll oversee a team of media specialists and collaborate across creative, strategy, and account teams to turn human patterns into action—and action into results.
This is a role for someone who thrives on both the science and soul of media. Someone who understands how to shape media not just around budgets and audiences, but around purpose.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Leadership
- Lead the development of comprehensive, multi-channel media strategies across traditional, digital, paid social, streaming, and emerging platforms.
- Serve as the senior media advisor to clients and internal teams, ensuring all media efforts align with brand goals, creative direction, and audience insights.
- Oversee the planning process from discovery and research through to plan presentation, buy implementation, and performance evaluation.
- Supervise and support the media team, providing guidance, reviews, and professional development opportunities.
- Delegate work based on skillsets and project needs, ensuring quality and efficiency at every step.
- Lead internal media brainstorms, review plans and implementations for accuracy and strategy, and coach team members in media tools and best practices.
Planning & Execution
- Develop and present media plans that integrate both traditional (TV, radio, print, OOH) and digital (programmatic, display, paid search, social, video, audio streaming) tactics.
- Manage media budgets, timelines, and reporting deliverables in partnership with account service and project management teams.
- Oversee RFP processes, media buying coordination, trafficking support, and campaign QA.
- Ensure media performance tracking, optimization, and reporting are in place and clearly communicated to clients.
- Oversee performance reporting for client campaigns and ensure processes are in place to deliver on-time and insightful reports for agency and client action.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with creative, strategy, and account service teams to ensure media is integrated into all stages of campaign development.
- Support new business pitches with media insights, strategies, and budget recommendations.
- Collaborate with ad operations specialist to ensure assets to fulfill media campaign are requested and trafficked to ensure seamless and on-time media campaigns.
What You Bring
- 7+ years of media planning and buying experience in an agency or brand setting.
- Strong working knowledge of both traditional and digital media planning principles.
- Experience managing a team and mentoring junior media professionals.
- Ability to interpret audience data, media trends, and performance metrics to drive insights.
- Clear communication skills and confidence in presenting to clients and internal stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills across multiple client accounts.
- Familiarity with media platforms and research tools; MediaOcean experience preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project management systems and media planning/trafficking software.
