About the Role:

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Lead Developer leads and mentors a small web development team of 2-3 developers, fostering growth and best practices. The Lead Developer is responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining scalable, responsive, and high-performance web applications, overseeing code quality, reviewing pull requests, and establishing coding standards. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies, including automation platforms and AI integrations, while demonstrating results-focused leadership skills in a fast-paced, start-up environment.

Core Job Responsibilities:

Leadership & Project Management

    >Lead and mentor a small team of 2–3 developers, ensuring high-quality output and professional growth.
  • Oversee sprint planning, task delegation, and project timelines to meet business goals.
  • Review code, provide constructive feedback, and enforce best practices in development, testing, and deployment.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for technical decisions and cross-department collaboration.

Web Development & Maintenance

  • Architect, build, and maintain advanced WordPress sites, custom themes, and plug-ins across the company portfolio.
  • Guide the team in developing responsive, performant, and accessible web applications.

Automation & Integration

  • Lead the design and implementation of automation workflows using tools such as n8n or Zapier.
  • Build and oversee data synchronization systems, lead routing, and marketing automation pipelines.
  • Integrate AI and API-based tools (ChatGPT, computer vision, etc.) into web applications to enhance functionality.
  • Design and maintain REST and GraphQL API integrations across multiple platforms.

Technical Operations

  • Manage hosting infrastructure, domain setup, SSL certificates, and overall site performance optimization.
  • Implement SEO and accessibility best practices (WCAG) across all projects.
  • Maintain robust version control (Git), and support CI/CD pipelines for continuous deployment.
  • Oversee system monitoring, debugging, and production issue resolution.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and process workflows for internal use.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, design, and company operations teams to align technical execution with business goals.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, innovation, and cross-functional communication within the development team.
  • Coordinate multiple concurrent projects and ensure timely, quality delivery.

About You:

Required Experience

  • 3-4+ years of professional web development experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or senior role.
  • Advanced WordPress expertise, including custom theme and plugin development.
  • Hands‑on experience with automation platforms (n8n, Make, or Zapier) in live environments.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and working knowledge of GraphQL.

Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with AI/ML APIs and prompt engineering.
  • Experience with SQL databases, caching, and performance optimization.
  • Proficiency with Git workflows, deployment automation, and testing frameworks.
  • Bonus: Experience in UI/UX or data visualization (portfolio preferred).

  • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining delivery excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience leading projects in an agency or multi‑client environment.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base Salary up to $100,000 annually
  • Flexible, hybrid work arrangement (3 days in‑office, 2 days remote)
