Senior UX/UI Designer (Product-Focused) Type: Full-Time, Contract-to-Hire
Location: Austin, TX preferred (US-based, CST overlap required)
Overview We’re looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer to take full ownership of the end-to-end user experience across a suite of creative tools and integrations. This is a hands-on, product-driven design role for someone who thrives on shaping complex desktop and plugin experiences into intuitive, visually refined, and professional-grade products.
You’ll combine high-level UX thinking with exceptional execution in Figma—translating broad objectives like “improve onboarding” or “revamp the marketplace” into elegant, world-class design solutions. You’ll collaborate directly with leadership, engineers, and playtesters to make the platform feel as seamless and polished as the creative software it integrates with.
Key Responsibilities
Own the UX and UI
across the full product ecosystem—launcher, desktop app, marketplace, and plugins.
Lead UX research
through engagement with active users, playtesters, and community members to uncover usability issues and friction points.
Redesign onboarding
and first-time user flows to improve activation, clarity, and delight.
Overhaul the marketplace experience , focusing on discoverability, visual hierarchy, and an intuitive purchase flow.
Deliver polished, interactive prototypes
and high-fidelity layouts in Figma that set a professional standard.
Develop and maintain a unified design system
ensuring consistency across all product surfaces.
Collaborate cross-functionally
to define product direction and ensure faithful design implementation.
Ideal Candidate Profile
5+ years designing for complex desktop applications or creative SaaS tools.
Deep expertise in Figma, including advanced component systems and prototyping.
Proven ability to gather and act on user feedback from live communities or beta programs.
Strong understanding of B2B / B2Developer UX—balancing power and approachability.
Portfolio demonstrating visual excellence, functional clarity, and thoughtful UX rationale.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
Bonus: Familiarity with creative software ecosystems (e.g., Unity, Unreal, Blender, Substance).
Working Style
Self-directed and accountable, with excellent judgment on when to collaborate and when to drive independently.
Obsessed with polish, detail, and user empathy.
Believes great UX isn’t just how it looks—it’s how it feels after real use.
Comfortable challenging assumptions and advocating for smarter, user-centered solutions.
Eager to deeply understand the product and design from the user’s perspective.
