About Us: Opal’s Heart is a 501(c)3 non‑profit, all‑volunteer organization based in Prince George’s County, MD. We are dedicated to serving unhoused individuals in the Metropolitan D.C. area by providing essential supplies and support through our Care Bags and Care Meals initiatives.

Mission: To provide dignity to the unhoused one Care Bag at a time.

Position Overview: Opal's Heart seeks a creative and motivated Content Creator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for storytelling, social media, and content development. As a Content Creator, you will be responsible for crafting compelling and engaging content across various platforms to elevate our brand, engage our audience, and support our fundraising and outreach efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Content Development: Create and curate high‑quality content including blog posts, social media updates, newsletters, videos, and graphics that align with our mission and resonate with our target audience.

Social Media Assistance: Assist Management and grow Opal’s Heart’s social media presence by developing and executing a content calendar, engaging with followers, and tracking performance metrics.

Storytelling: Identify and share impactful stories from the communities we serve, our volunteers, and donors to highlight the importance of our work.

Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with the fundraising, outreach, and program teams to ensure content aligns with organizational goals and messaging.

Campaign Support: Assist in creating content for fundraising campaigns, events, and other initiatives.

SEO & Analytics: Optimize content for SEO and track performance using analytics tools to refine content strategies.

Qualifications

Proven experience in content creation, social media management, or digital marketing.

Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.

Proficiency with social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).

Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing software is a plus.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.

Passion for nonprofit work and a commitment to Opal’s Heart’s mission.
