Job Overview We are currently seeking qualified candidates for consideration to fill an open Technical Writer position in our Program Management Services Division. This position will be located at our Client’s Rochester office.

The Program Management Services Division at LaBella provides comprehensive management services for complex projects and multi-year capital programs. Project teams are established to provide a customized mix of business consulting, project management, financial control and monitoring, administrative, and technical support services.

The technical writer plans, writes and maintains systems and user support documentation efforts. The writer in this position will need to become familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Translate and convert extremely complicated technical information/ideas into easily read material. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This role prepares and/or maintains documentation pertaining to technical design, development, testing and deployments; this includes installation, programming, systems operation, and user documentation that support building technical solutions which align to our client’s compliance and regulatory requirements while maximizing technical team performance.

Responsibilities

Create/maintain documents using the in-house Document Management System (experience with LockPath application is a plus)

Document core products’ design & development requirements and specifications (comparable to Systems Requirements Document/Technical Design Document content) throughout the project SDLC

Document & maintain project process, standards, and documentation: SOP, work instructions and operational tasks

Document & maintain project security & compliance documentation requirements (policies, standards and procedures that drive compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements)

Create process/ workflow flow diagrams

Document programming methodologies and toolkit use

Develop and maintain user‑training materials

Publish and maintain templates for written documentation produced by others (technical specifications, RFP responses, etc.), ensuring a consistent “look and feel”

Assist team in creating SharePoint Page (frontend development)

Assist team in project work: project scope and purpose, project charters, stakeholder analyses, voice of the customer, and high‑level process mapping, as needed

Assist team in reviewing current policies for quality, accuracy, and effectiveness. Responsible for ensuring that all program‑related information is effectively documented, stored, and controlled

Assist with developing, documenting architecture governance frameworks, standards, and processes

Assist with creating & implementing documentation methodology and framework

Participate in key architectural process forums and meetings, as required

Document & verify technical workflows for accuracy to process

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent work experience

Proven technical documentation experience. Technical capacity to gain knowledge of assigned business function and technical skills

Strong time management, leadership, and organizational skills; as well as technical writing skills, including the ability to document process, workflows, SOPs, work instructions, operational plans, training manuals

Demonstrates ability to follow‑up and implement continuous process documentation/improvement; demonstrate communication proficiency and thoroughness

Strong teamwork orientation with ability to communicate verbally and written, across regions and management levels, adjusting communication style to ensure comprehension, and communicating complex ideas in easy‑to‑understand ways

Applicant must be comfortable in a dynamic environment

Applicant must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Visio, PowerApps, Power BI, Teams, and SharePoint; Experience with Adobe suite of products is helpful
