Job Description AECOM is looking for an accomplished
AVP, Design-Build Manager
to lead some of the East Coast’s most complex and high- profile transportation projects. This is an opportunity to shape the future of infrastructure by overseeing large‑scale, multi‑disciplinary highway and transit programs from concept through delivery. In this role, you’ll leverage your design‑build expertise to guide cross‑functional teams, manage high‑stakes client relationships, and deliver innovative, resilient solutions that improve mobility and strengthen communities.
Job Responsibilities
Proactively identify potential program problems or opportunities, analyze the issues using all appropriate resources, develop alternatives and arrive at the most optimal approach to mitigate problems or exploit opportunities.
Manage the most complex and sensitive projects, often in multiple geographic locations. Many projects assigned are distinguished by their magnitude or program complexity, requiring that more than one person be involved.
Act independently or as a team leader representing AECOM with consulting firms and ensure that the final product of the project or program team reflects the original scope and budget requirements.
Develop and maintain comprehensive program plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and budget forecasts.
Lead cross‑functional teams and coordinate activities across multiple departments to ensure program objectives are met.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and executive leadership.
Implement and oversee risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate potential program risks.
Develop and present regular program status reports to executive management and stakeholders.
Mentor and develop junior program managers and team members to build organizational capacity.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program management processes and methodologies.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and company policies throughout program execution.
Negotiate and manage complex contracts with vendors and partners to support program objectives.
Lead change management efforts to facilitate successful program implementation and adoption.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 4 years of leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications
15+ years of transportation project experience.
Experience with Design‑Build delivery for final design.
Design‑Build Project Experience.
Experience leading and managing transportation design‑build projects on large complex highway projects.
Experience managing a large team in a fast‑paced environment.
State Professional Engineer License, or the ability to obtain within twelve months.
Position will require frequent travel to project and client sites.
Additional Information Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $150,000.00 – $270,000.00.
