Community Manager – SparkHaus Blue North is seeking a Community Manager to support the daily operations and event programming of SparkHaus, Northern Kentucky’s largest entrepreneurial initiative.

This role is ideal for someone who is detail oriented, thrives in dynamic environments, loves connecting with people, and takes pride in delivering “unreasonable hospitality”. As Community Manager, you’ll report to the Operations Manager in making sure the building runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis, members feel supported, and every event or meeting exceeds expectations.

About SparkHaus: SparkHaus is the largest entrepreneurial hub in the Cincinnati region and the product of a partnership between Kenton County, the Northern Kentucky Port Authority, and Blue North. Our vision is to be Kentucky’s center of gravity for the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurship.

As an Entrepreneurial Hub, SparkHaus brings together bold founders, investors, and supporters while reshaping an entire block of downtown Covington. is the KY Innovation Hub for the counties of Northern Kentucky. KY Innovation Hubs represent Kentucky’s approach to building vibrant, regional innovation clusters across the state and growing the overall economy.

Blue North operates SparkHaus and serves as a front door for entrepreneurship, helping startups and small businesses connect to resources, capital, and community. Its mission is threefold:

Serve as a front door for entrepreneurs in Northern Kentucky.

Champion the region’s founders on a local, regional, and national level.

Drive initiatives that create exponential impact across the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

General:

Reports to the SparkHaus Operations Manager

Full‑time, on‑site position based at SparkHaus in Covington, KY

Some evenings and weekends required for events or special activations

Day‑to‑Day Operations:

Perform daily opening and closing procedures according to SOPs

Greet members and visitors, providing exceptional service and information

Conduct daily walkthroughs to ensure cleanliness, organization, and readiness

Coordinate with vendors for cleaning, maintenance, and repairs

Monitor facilities, equipment, and IT systems, escalating issues promptly

Restock snacks, beverages, and office supplies as needed

Reset meeting rooms after each use and ensure common areas remain tidy

Respond to member‑reported facility issues within one hour during business hours

Manage the front desk as needed, assisting visitors and answering questions

Support internal communication systems and report recurring issues to Operations Manager

Events Management:

Prepare meeting rooms and event spaces before and after each use

Communicate with hosts and vendors to ensure events run smoothly

Manage the event and meeting space calendar in OfficeRnD

Assist members in booking the best rooms for their events or meetings

Support setup of SparkHaus‑hosted programs and community events

Provide on‑site support during events, ensuring an excellent guest experience

Coordinate post‑event breakdown and reset procedures

Team & Culture:

Collaborate closely with a small, fast‑moving team—flexibility is key

Pitch in wherever needed; no task is “too small”

Help foster a culture of hospitality, community, and creativity within SparkHaus
