Job Description
Highland Hospital is seeking an experienced switchboard operator to work full time during a mid‑day shift. The role includes managing the hospital’s automated answering system, handling the Stat line and all emergency codes, maintaining paging devices, and supporting other telecommunications functions. Operate Amtelco/Spok automated answering telephone system, receiving all internal and external calls and directing them to the appropriate party. Manage incoming calls to the hospital Stat line, executing all emergency processes (codes, alerts, etc.). Maintain an average of 70 on‑call schedules and update the Web Paging system. Manage pager devices and Spok apps, replace broken pagers, and process activation paperwork. Monitor and manage all system alarms (fire, panic, door, refrigerator, etc.) and overhead paging system. Assist in training new telecommunications staff. Monitor and dispatch via two‑way radio with Security and Facilities departments. Salary Range
$17.50 – $22.60 an hour. Job Requirements
Education: High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience. Experience: 1–3 years in customer service. Skills: Customer‑service skills, ability to operate a switchboard desirable. Other Details
