The Capital One Consumer Bank Marketing Operations and Technology team is a growing group looking to bring in new, excited marketers. MarTech is responsible for managing consumer data and audiences, automating marketing technologies & platforms, reporting and analytics, incentives, prioritization and workflow, well-managed and delivering a best-in-class web and SEO experience.

The SEO program consists of numerous workstreams: acquisitions SEO, local SEO, content marketing, technical improvements, SEO reporting and analytics, SEO research and consultation. We exist to "be found, help people and grow the business."

Our team is on the forefront of SEO strategy across the Capital One Enterprise, we're constantly evolving to meet the shifting demands of the digital marketing landscape (AIO and GEO), and we're having fun with our wide-ranging partners while we're doing it.

The SEO Marketing Senior Manager role will be responsible for leading and bringing our SEO program to life across these workstreams. This is a critical leadership role responsible for setting the vision, developing the strategy, and leading the team that acquires Customers for all COF products and services through search, consideration and content marketing.

You won't just be managing content; you'll be building a center of excellence. You will be Retail Banks' go-to expert for SEO, combining deep technical knowledge with a strong business acumen to influence product roadmaps and marketing initiatives. You will lead and mentor a high-performing small team, fostering their growth while holding them to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities

This role is built on three core pillars: strategic vision, inspirational leadership, and cross-functional influence.

Strategic Leadership & Vision

  • Own the Roadmap: Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-year SEO strategy for the Retail Bank designed to increase market share, drive high-quality traffic, and generate new customer accounts.
  • Identify Growth Levers: Conduct enterprise-level analysis of the competitive landscape, total addressable market (TAM), and emerging search trends to uncover and prioritize significant growth opportunities.
  • Innovate: find the leverage and maximize value in the ever-changing search landscape with a focus on AIO and GEO measurement, technical and content strategies implementation and enterprise-wide influence
  • Drive Integration: Serve as the strategic lead for integrating SEO with all other marketing channels, including Paid Search, Content, Brand, PR, and Discover to create a cohesive and powerful customer acquisition engine.
  • Set the Standard for Success: Define ambitious team goals and KPIs that align directly with business objectives. Establish a rigorous testing and experimentation framework to continuously innovate and improve performance.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead & Mentor: Directly manage, coach, and develop a team of two talented associates. Provide clear direction, consistent feedback, and dedicated support for their career growth and professional development.
  • Cultivate Excellence: Foster a high-performing team culture rooted in curiosity, data-driven decision-making, and a relentless focus on results.
  • Manage & Empower: Effectively manage team resources, prioritize workloads, and remove obstacles to empower your team to do their best work.
Cross-Functional Influence & Evangelism
  • Be the SEO Voice: Serve as the primary SEO subject matter expert and trusted advisor to senior leaders across the Retail Bank, including partners in Product, Technology, Analytics, Brand Marketing, Enterprise and Corporate Strategy.
  • Build Business Cases: Translate complex SEO concepts and data into clear, compelling business cases and strategic recommendations that resonate with executive audiences.
  • Embed SEO Best Practices: Build powerful, collaborative relationships across the organization to ensure SEO is a key consideration in all digital product development and content initiatives from the very beginning.
  • Communicate Impact: Regularly present on SEO performance, strategic initiatives, and the competitive landscape to senior leadership, clearly articulating the business impact of your team's efforts.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of digital marketing experience
  • At least 5 years of experience using G-Suite
  • At least 5 years of experience with Google Analytics and Google Marketing Platform products
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in agile marketing principles
  • 7+ years of SEO marketing experience
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience
  • Marketing experience in financial services, fintech, or another highly regulated industry

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Riverwoods, IL: $155,300 - $177,200 for Sr. Manager, Marketing

McLean, VA: $170,800 - $194,900 for Sr. Manager, Marketing

Richmond, VA: $155,300 - $177,200 for Sr. Manager, Marketing

Wilmington, DE: $155,300 - $177,200 for Sr. Manager, Marketing

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
