Overview
We're seeking an experienced UX Research Contractor to support a digital banking transformation. You'll conduct bilingual qualitative research to inform and improve customer-facing mobile experiences. The ideal candidate is fluent in Spanish and English, with proven expertise leading research from planning through synthesis and storytelling.
Ideal Profile
6+ years of UX or qualitative research experience, preferably in financial services or regulated industries Skilled at managing multiple squads and stakeholders in complex programs
Strong communicator, facilitator, and storyteller Passionate about translating insights into meaningful design outcomes
Self-sufficient, adaptable, and comfortable in agile, distributed teams Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written)
Key Responsibilities
Lead qualitative research from planning to insights delivery Design and analyze surveys or lightweight quantitative studies
Align research strategies to product priorities and sprint cycles Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to embed user insights
Facilitate workshops for ideation, prioritization, and validation
Conduct beta testing with internal users to assess release value
Advocate for research-driven design through storytelling and synthesis
Mentor peers and promote research best practices
Core Competencies
Research Methods:
In-depth interviews (English & Spanish), focus groups, usability testing, diary studies, concept and prototype testing, card sorting, and surveys
Familiarity with mixed-methods approaches and interpreting quantitative insights to complement qualitative findings
Research Types: Generative and evaluative studies, including discovery, prototype, and post-launch validation
Synthesis & Communication: Affinity mapping, journey and archetype development, and insight storytelling
Tools:
Utilize tools such as Qualtrics, collaborative whiteboarding platforms, and Microsoft PowerPoint
Define research objectives, participant criteria, and success metrics
Develop screeners, discussion guides, and test scripts
Conduct bilingual interviews with cultural sensitivity
Synthesize findings into actionable insights and recommendations
Present outcomes to leadership and product teams
Support continuous improvement of research frameworks and documentation
