We are currently accepting applications for a part-time, paid internship (15-20 hours per week) starting ASAP after hire or by June 2025 and ending in December 2025. There is a possibility of renewal in 2026.
About the Office
APA’s book program, publishes an average of 75 books each year, which includes an office dedicated to APA Style. The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association®, now in its seventh edition, is the most widely used writing style guide in the world, used in a variety of academic programs. Oher APA Style products include The Concise Guide to APA Style and Mastering APA Style, which is a digital-only product.
Candidacy:
Undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a publishing career, preferably in analytics, marketing, sales, or accounting
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities and expectations of this intern are:
- Support marketing
- Conduct research for various projects
- Reviews data to identify key insights into the business's universe
- Evaluate customer profile and market share data to inform product market strategy
- Communicate information to leadership and other stakeholders to determine next steps for sales and marketing efforts
- Attend department meetings
- Write marketing copy
- Other projects as assigned
Through hands-on experience, you will have the opportunity to develop:
- Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills
- Better understanding of the publishing industry and how it works, specifically the market usage, strategies, and potential of APA Style
- Marketing expertise
- Connections with peers and professionals both in the field of psychology and in book publishing
- A greater understanding of your career goals and how you can attain them
Job Location - Remote: APA internships may be considered for remote work eligibility as defined in APA’s Flexible Work Policy and are subject to approval.
