Position Summary
Teach three (3) Studio Art courses per regular semester, which may include online courses and/or dual‑credit/early college classes. Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the teaching discipline, adapting instruction to varied student backgrounds. Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community while continuously enhancing instructional quality.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Plan course instruction based on approved syllabus/outlines to achieve content and objective goals.
- Use diverse teaching styles and methods to accommodate various learning styles.
- Possess successful college teaching experience.
- Utilize instructional technologies (e.g., computers, internet resources, other media) in teaching.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to teach and communicate with students from varied multicultural backgrounds.
- Master of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art.
- Commitment to teaching strategies that enhance student success.
- Knowledge of a learning college and/or learning communities.
- Experience teaching college‑level online courses and/or documented success in a college online learning management system (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas).

Job Duties
- Evaluate students to measure progress toward course outcomes, following College grade and appeal procedures.
- Review, evaluate, recommend, and effectively use student learning materials.
- Provide a written, accessible course syllabus that follows the Course Syllabus Guidelines and clarifies content, goals, requirements, expectations, evaluation methods, and schedule of work.
- Maintain a classroom environment that promotes teaching and learning.
- Hold scheduled office hours (minimum one hour daily) to provide student support and improve learning.
- Assist in academic advising of declared majors and support marketing/recruitment efforts.
- Review, evaluate, and revise assessments of program and institutional student learning outcomes, implementing action plans for systemic improvement.
- Participate in the self‑evaluation process, establishing goals and objectives for personal and professional development.
- Maintain professional standards through development and engagement activities.
- Serve on committees, accept occasional special assignments, and participate in institutional activities (e.g., convocation, graduation ceremonies).
- Participate in department, divisional, and College meetings, as well as College‑related activities such as faculty registration and selection.
- Engage in activities required to maintain program and College accreditation standards.
- Assist in the College planning process, contributing to goal setting, objective formulation, and budget priorities.
- Participate in business and/or community activities that promote the mission of the College.
