About Us

Downey’s Potato Chips is a 41-year-old, family‑owned and operated potato chip company in Waterford, Michigan. We’ve been quietly doing our thing (hand‑crafting super high‑quality, unique, light and crispy kettle chips) and now it’s time to make some noise.

We have some incredibly exciting things coming up and we need someone to help us tell our story!

The Vibe

😎 Authentic, witty, behind‑the‑scenes realness. No corporate fluff. Just a small Michigan team obsessed with making really good chips.

What You’d Do

• Come to our Waterford facility 1‑2x per week to film content (production, storefront, team, events, etc.)
• Create 4‑5 TikToks/Reels per week that actually get engagement
• Stay on top of trends and adapt them to fit our brand
• Engage with comments and DMs – build community 🫶
• Help us launch some very big things coming!

This Is YOU If…

• ✅ You live on TikTok/Instagram and know what’s working RIGHT NOW
• ✅ You can shoot and edit on your phone like a pro (CapCut, InShot, whatever works)
• ✅ You understand food/lifestyle content and what makes people stop scrolling
• ✅ You’re a self‑starter – we’re a small team, we need someone who doesn’t need hand‑holding
• ✅ You get our values: authentic, humble, chip‑obsessed, Michigan‑proud
• ✅ You’re based in Metro Detroit/SE Michigan (you’ll be at our Waterford facility regularly)
• ✅ Bonus: You love chips. Or you’re willing to develop that love

What We Offer

• 💵 $600‑1,000/month to start and depending on experience (8‑12 hours/week, tailoring as needed). Opportunity to grow as we grow.
• Creative freedom – we trust you to do what works as long as it’s in line with our branding + voice.
• Free chips, obviously!
• 💁🏼♀️ Flexible schedule, mostly remote except filming days – Front‑row seat to big small‑business wins & growth.
