We're on the hunt for a creative, driven storyteller who can uncover, craft, and deliver digital news stories that captivate audiences. Use sharp editorial judgment and creative flair to turn ideas into must-read content that informs, inspires, and sparks conversation.

This role will be based in our New York Hub; we are open to candidates based in or commutable to New York. Flexibility around evening and weekend shifts is required.

About the role

Reporting to the Deputy Showbiz & TV Editor, you’ll work with a dynamic team of editors, reporters, and social pros to create standout entertainment-focused stories. You will spot the next big talking points – pitching, producing, and publishing engaging digital content that grabs attention. From monitoring TV shows, news programmes and award ceremonies to covering red carpets, press junkets, and exclusive interviews, you’ll be at the centre of the action. With sharp editorial judgment, creative flair, and strong SEO and social savvy, you’ll craft must-read stories that uphold the highest journalistic standards.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Talented storyteller with a knack for crafting original, captivating news from breaking stories to digital‑first features that connect with audiences.
  • Ability to work at pace, thrive under pressure, and bring sharp interviewing, investigative, and editorial skills.
  • Proven experience at a national or major regional publication.
  • Degree in Journalism or a related field.
  • Strong grasp of SEO, analytics (Chartbeat, Google Analytics), and digital publishing tools.
  • Collaborative, creative, and audience‑focused mindset with determination, imagination, and passion for delivering standout stories.
  • Good understanding of media law.
