Compensation:

$125,000 to $130,000 per year .

The Bethesdan Hotel, part of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton, seeks an accomplished Director of Sales & Marketing. The Bethesdan features 270 guest rooms and 15,000 square feet of event space, located centrally in Bethesda, MD, within a vibrant community full of charming neighborhoods, business innovators, walkable shops, and great places to eat and drink. Essential Job Functions

Direct solicitation efforts of the sales staff, oversee rate, date and space commitments for group room sales.

Interview, hire, train, evaluate performance, resolve problems and recommend discipline or termination as appropriate.

Ensure training programs are conducted regularly and that Crescent standards of performance are met; provide guidance and counsel to staff for improvement.

Compile and direct preparation of reports related to the Sales Department, including annual and monthly forecasts, marketing budget, lead management system, booking report, star reports, and sales meeting minutes.

Coordinate ongoing research of the travel industry to detect market trends and develop new marketing strategies; make recommendations to improve potential from various markets.

Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients and promote Crescent programs internally.

Meet with and entertain clients, traveling as needed.

Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to the staff.

Initiate preparation of a computerized annual Sales & Marketing Plan, execute and adjust plans based on market conditions.

Organize and attend scheduled Sales Department and related meetings.

Required Skills/Abilities

5+ years of hotel senior sales experience.

Knowledge of travel industry, local market trends and economic factors.

Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience in building and delivering presentations to clients and owner groups.

Proven prospecting, sales and closing skills.

Hilton and Delphi experience highly preferred.
