What You Will Do Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior UX Researcher who thrives on uncovering insights that drive impactful design decisions. This person should be skilled in managing participant panels, conducting interviews and workshops, and using analytics tools to understand user behavior. They must also be able to clearly articulate the value of research to stakeholders and executives. As a UX Researcher, you will lead and define research initiatives. You will work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and other designers, to ensure our products meet both user needs and business goals. This position is onsite based in Westford, MA. Candidates must be within commuting distance to the office or able to relocate.
How You Will Do It
Plan and execute qualitative and quantitative research studies.
Manage participant recruitment and maintain research panels.
Utilize tools like Glassbox, Hotjar, or similar for behavioral analysis.
Conduct interviews, usability tests, and workshops with confidence.
Translate research findings into actionable insights for design and business teams.
Communicate research impact effectively to executives and cross‑functional teams.
Create structured research plans aligned with product goals.
Use analytics and observation tools to uncover behavioral patterns.
Facilitate workshops and interviews that engage stakeholders and participants.
Document findings in clear, visual reports that influence decision‑making.
Showcase value and advocate for user‑centered and research‑driven designs via presentations.
Required
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human‑Computer Interaction, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field.
4+ years of experience in UX research, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
Proficiency with research tools (Glassbox, Hotjar, UserTesting, etc.).
Strong facilitation and communication skills.
Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, compelling narratives.
Experience influencing design and product strategy through research.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work within cross‑functional teams.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $110,000 - $145,000 (Salary to be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
