Senior Manager, Product Designer – Capital One Software
We’re currently seeking a Senior Manager, Product Designer to join the Capital One Software Experience Design team supporting our digital experiences and site team. As a partner to the Director of Product, this foundational role focuses on discovery and delivery of a best‑in‑class B2B digital experience. We require a lead designer obsessed with usability, customer empathy and funnel optimization, who will structure key user flows, task completion and customer satisfaction while building a content‑rich experience that elevates discoverability through search and AI channels.
Role Expectations As a Senior Manager Product Designer you’ll combine craft expertise, influence and strategic thinking with an understanding of our customers and the business. You’ll co‑create innovative solutions to complex problems, drive product strategy and contribute to a thriving team culture of high‑performing designers.

Product Design Expertise:
Apply interaction, visual and service design expertise to elevate design practice maturity, collaborate with cross‑functional partners, and optimize tools, platforms, frameworks, and design systems.
Mentorship:
Lead, mentor, and consult with teammates to mature the design discipline and build a strong culture.
Strategic Influence:
Shape product direction, align stakeholders, and ensure user needs drive strategy.
Human‑Centered:
Advocate for human‑centered methodologies that match customer needs and business goals.
Business‑Focused:
Use knowledge of products, processes, customers, competitors, and market trends to guide design engagement.
Problem‑Solving:
Own the problem‑solving approach and balance competing interests.
Collaboration:
Engage partner expertise across the organization, embracing compromise to deliver results.
Communication:
Present work across levels, integrating design frameworks, data, and research.
Basic Qualifications
At least 6 years of experience in a Product Design role.
At least 6 years of experience in design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
Preferred Qualifications
At least 8 years of experience in a Product Design role.
At least 8 years of experience in design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
Experience working with and contributing to an established design system.
Experience collaborating with product, tech and business leaders.
Experience leading design projects or teams.
Experience working in heavily regulated, data‑heavy problem spaces.
Salary Range McLean, VA: $193,000 - $220,300 per year for Sr. Manager, Design.
New York, NY: $210,500 - $240,300 per year.
Richmond, VA: $175,500 - $200,300 per year.
