Marc Jacobs International, powered by the creative genius of Marc Jacobs, seeks a Senior Designer to join the Wovens team based in its New York City (SoHo) headquarters.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of innovative woven styles across all categories, from concept through final sample, in alignment with the Marc Jacobs brand aesthetic

Draw on a deep awareness of trends, culture, and vintage references to shape forward‑thinking woven design with an elevated and refined point of view

Translate seasonal inspiration into original designs that balance creativity, construction, and commercial relevance

Work in 2D and 3D — draping and sketching to sculpt silhouette, proportion, and movement of fabric

Partner closely with Product Development, Technical Design, and Merchandising to ensure design intent, fabrication, and execution are carried through from concept to production

Oversee fittings, providing informed design feedback to refine fit, proportion, and detailing while maintaining the integrity of design

Collaborate with Fabric R&D on material innovation, wash development, and finishing techniques to bring newness and depth to woven textiles

Partner with Graphics and Trims teams to thoughtfully integrate artwork, surface treatments, and embellishments into woven designs

Play a key role in style outs, photoshoots, and internal reviews, refining looks and ensuring cohesive storytelling across categories

Manage multiple projects within the design calendar, maintaining creative vision, precision, and attention to detail under shifting priorities

Lead and inspire junior designers, encouraging collaboration, originality, and growth within the studio

Maintain an organized design workflow — ensuring all communication channels, sketches, specs, and PLM data are accurate and current

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design or a related field

7+ years of experience in Ready‑to‑Wear design with a focus on wovens (tailored and soft categories)

Strong expertise in fabrication, drape, construction, and finishing specific to woven product

Exceptional taste level, creative vision, and brand awareness

Highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and hand sketching

Skilled in PLM systems (Centric preferred) and standard design documentation workflows

Excellent understanding of fit, silhouette, proportion, and detail across woven categories

Skilled at interpreting and expanding upon design direction while managing multiple projects with clarity and precision

Experience working with and guiding junior designers, helping shape ideas and elevate execution across the team

Strong communication and presentation skills; comfortable sharing ideas with cross‑functional partners and leadership

Deep appreciation for creativity and craftsmanship, with an instinctive understanding of the Marc Jacobs aesthetic

Salary & Benefits The compensation for this position ranges from \$130,000 - \$140,000 annually. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidate’s relevant skills and experience. Marc Jacobs uses the published salary range as a guideline to provide our employees with market competitive pay while allowing for flexibility to recognize and reward all levels of expertise, performance, and tenure.
