Job Purpose The IBDP Computer Science and MYP Design Teacher will plan and deliver high-quality learning experiences that align with the IB Middle Years and Diploma Programmes. The teacher will foster creativity, innovation, and critical thinking while ensuring students develop strong technological and design-thinking skills.
Reporting To Secondary Principal
Key Result Areas And Responsibilities Teaching and Learning
Deliver engaging lessons in line with the IB MYP Design and IBDP Computer Science frameworks.
Encourage curiosity, problem-solving, and innovation through hands-on learning experiences.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic and social-emotional needs of students.
Promote the application of digital tools and computational thinking within the design process.
Assess student work following IB assessment criteria and provide timely, constructive feedback.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and report regularly to parents and school leadership.
Support students in preparing for IB internal assessments and the IBDP Computer Science exam.
Departmental and Professional Collaboration Collaborate with colleagues to design and refine the MYP and DP curriculum. Contribute to the ongoing development of departmental resources and best practices.
Participate in professional learning opportunities and faculty meetings.
Assist in maintaining a safe and organized learning environment, including the Design Lab and ICT spaces.
Pastoral and Community Engagement
Serve as a homeroom advisor, fostering positive relationships and student wellbeing.
Uphold the school’s values, promoting respect, collaboration, and global citizenship.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and development.
Safeguarding
Promote and safeguard the welfare of all students.
Complete required Nord Anglia safeguarding training and adhere to MET’s Child Protection Policy.
Qualifications And Training
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Design, or related field (required)
Teaching qualification or certification (desirable)
Fluency in English (required)
IB MYP and/or DP teaching experience (desirable)
Experience And Skills
Experience teaching MYP Design and/or DP Computer Science
Knowledge of IB philosophy, framework, and assessment practices
Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Proficiency in coding languages and digital design tools
Collaborative and innovative teaching approach
