Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact. In Search, we reimagine what it means to search for information—any way and anywhere—and solve complex challenges while keeping the experience universally accessible and useful.

Responsibilities

  • Write product or system development code.
  • Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide among available technologies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience in Mobile Application Development (Android or iOS).
  • 2 years of experience developing natively on the Android application platform (Kotlin, Java).
  • 1 year of experience building video features, playback, experiences, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 2 years of experience with Web Development or Front-End development.
  • 2 years of experience in iOS platform or application development.
  • Experience in evaluation techniques, including experiment design and statistical analysis.
  • Knowledge of UX design fundamentals.
  • Ability to start in Mountain View by October 2025.

Compensation

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
