Assistant Professor – Architectural Design and Engaged Practice – Architecture (University of California Berkeley) The Department of Architecture at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for two full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professor positions in Architectural Design – Engaged Practice. These positions offer opportunities to combine innovative architectural practice with scholarly inquiry, focusing on climate, housing, materials, construction, social justice, and other critical issues.

Position Overview

Core instruction in architectural design at graduate and undergraduate levels, including Foundational Studios, Courses, and Integrated Design Studios.

Lead advanced design studios and offer seminar and/or lecture courses in your area of expertise.

Provide service to the department, college, university, profession, and broader community.

Demonstrate exemplary architectural work and the ability to disseminate it through appropriate venues.

Qualifications

Basic qualification: Bachelor degree (or equivalent international degree).

Preferred: One of the following by the start date:

Professional graduate degree in architecture (M.Arch or equivalent).

Undergraduate degree in architecture (B.Arch or equivalent) plus an additional graduate degree (MA, MS, or Ph.D.).
