NewsNation is looking for a booking/segment producer to work on the network’s flagship primetime news program. The producer arranges guest appearances, writes guest segments, and produces visual elements. The role also supports Pulse of America bookings, featuring real Americans sharing their experiences.
Responsibilities
Pitch stories daily
Identify top-tier guests, cultivate relationships, and arrange guest appearances on the show
Conduct pre-interviews and in-depth research on a range of topics
Organize and produce elements for show and interview segments
Monitor the latest news and locate people, images, and sound editorial information via social media and other platforms
Find reliable guests/witnesses quickly during breaking news situations
Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Producer and Senior Producer or network leadership
Requirements & Skills
Five or more years’ experience in national or major-market news
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in journalism or a related field
Strong news judgment and editorial sensibilities
Strong broadcast newswriting skills
Ability to create dynamic graphic and video elements
Self‑directing, self‑motivating, and able to work with a diverse group of people
Excellent communication with on‑air talent, news managers, videographers, and production staff
Ability to handle stress and meet short deadlines
Capable of extended computer use
Available for assigned shifts, on‑call overnight, mornings, and weekends/holidays
Salary Range $65,000 – 75,000
