About The Role As a Group Creative Director, you’ll be responsible for managing, guiding and creating the communication layer of a brand’s vision. This is a leadership role within the agency, with accountability for the health of both the brands you manage and the agency at large. You must inspire the creativity and strategic thinking of your team and those around you. Bring experimentation where it fits and act as a teacher of curiosity.
This role requires high involvement with clients, pitching work, presenting the department’s capabilities, and aligning client needs with the agency’s model. You oversee the entire creative team, with a smaller subset of direct reports. Partner with other leaders to drive creative direction.
Responsibilities
Creative steward for portfolio brands, working with internal brand and strategy teams to set tone and vision.
Storytell ideas for clients, internal teams, and creative staff; ensure clarity and final presentation polish.
Present ideas to clients and support the core concepts.
Develop client relationships, building trust.
Lead hiring decisions on art and copy candidates; mentor and grow talent.
Foster a creative environment and inspire team members.
Offer perspective on team composition, promotions, and growth opportunities.
Influence creative‑led thinking across the business.
Lead concept development for design and creative work.
Partner with Head of Production, Head of Design and CCO to improve capabilities.
Advise on agency‑wide improvements for Monks.
Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, budget, and commercially successful.
Provide quality control of team output.
About You The essentials
Minimum 4 years as Creative Director or equivalent role, with concept development and client interaction.
Experience leading creative teams of 6+ with empathy and leadership.
Track record of building high‑performing teams and pushing ideas.
Strong creative point of view and ability to identify strong ideas.
Patience and attention to detail.
Knowledge of layout design, graphic fundamentals, and typography.
Ability to steer campaign writing.
Storytelling ability that compels audiences.
Turn team‑delivered material into sellable ideas.

Salary Range $200,000—$250,000 USD
