Project Designer / Junior Architect Join our growing design firm that specializes in industrial, commercial, and manufacturing facility design across the Southeast. We deliver efficient, high‑quality architecture through creativity, collaboration, and technical excellence. As part of our close‑knit studio, you'll work directly with firm leadership, engineers, and contractors on projects from concept through construction. We are seeking a Project Designer / Junior Architect who is eager to take an active role in all phases of design and project delivery. The ideal candidate is technically strong in Revit, comfortable coordinating with consultants and contractors, and motivated to grow into a project management role.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design and development of industrial and commercial projects from concept through construction.

Produce and coordinate detailed Revit models and construction documents.

Work closely with engineering consultants to integrate architectural and technical systems.

Support project management tasks, including scheduling, documentation, and client communication.

Participate in construction administration, including reviewing submittals and responding to RFIs.

Collaborate with the studio team to maintain design quality, consistency, and efficiency.

Contribute to firm standards, templates, and best practices in Revit and project coordination.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in Autodesk Revit.

Strong technical understanding of building systems and construction documentation.

Experience coordinating with MEP and structural consultants.

2–5 years of experience in an architectural firm.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.

Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and eager to take on increasing responsibility.

Licensed or on the path to architectural licensure preferred but not required.

Work Environment This position is based in the office on a Monday–Friday schedule, 8 AM–5 PM. The work environment is collaborative and supportive, offering direct exposure to all phases of project delivery and client interaction. There are opportunities to grow into a project management or licensed architect role, with a small‑firm culture that values hands‑on involvement with meaningful industrial and commercial projects.

Job Type & Location Contract to Hire position based out of Birmingham, AL.

Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.25 – $43.27 /hr.
