JOB SUMMARY
JM Pet Resort & Veterinary Clinic is seeking a skilled and creative Social Media Marketing Strategist in Brockton, MA area to lead our digital storytelling and community engagement efforts. This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role ideal for a candidate with proven experience in content creation, analytics, and brand strategy. This role involves capturing real-time Resort & Veterinary Clinic activity and developing strong working relationships with each team member, ensuring content showcases the best of all our services. The successful candidate will schedule posts in advance, monitor social media communications, develop and run contests, stay up‑to‑date on social media trends, report on analytics, and make recommendations for improvement. The candidate will propose a social media plan that supports our overall company objectives and be able to make recommendations on how we should leverage each platform to meet our goals. This plan will be developed in collaboration with the Marketing Director. • This is not an entry‑level role. Only candidates with demonstrated professional experience in social media marketing will be considered. • This is an onsite role, in our Brockton, MA location. Social Media Responsibilities:
Works closely with the Marketing Manager and the marketing team to develop social media campaigns that help to achieve yearly/monthly marketing goals. Drives engagement across social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok) by providing creative content, monitoring and responding to all client communications (comments, direct messages, etc.) using language that embodies the company’s values and mission, staying abreast of viral trends, resort happenings, promotions, and retail pushes. Collaborates with Department Managers to document events in real time (training, team building, events, etc.). Develops relationships with colleagues to facilitate a sense of comfort in front of the camera. Produces & edits fun photography and video for all social channels, representing our brand’s personality and showcasing all of our services. Collaborates with Content Writer to develop copy for social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok) ensuring it follows all brand guidelines. Creates and maintains a monthly social content calendar. Ensures all approved copy/graphics are scheduled into the appropriate programs (Hootsuite) in accordance with the content calendar. Monitors and reports on social media analytics and demographics. Attends company events as needed (may include some weekends) curating content for our social channels, engaging with our audience and representing our company values. Suggests, implements, and manages email/social contests to drive traffic/interest and promote user‑generated content. Understands the importance of conversational marketing and how it is critical to nurturing client relationships. Engage. Understand. Recommend. Maintains the social media “JM face and voice” of the company in a way our clients love. Researches and suggests pet‑related articles and content to share that aligns with company culture, policy, and procedures. Keeps apprised of competitor’s websites and social media activity and reports in Marketing Meetings (including vet clinics, retail, boarding, and grooming in the area; follow on social and email newsletters). Looks for opportunities to leverage “other” industry content to generate free, organic leads while simultaneously building our brand’s value and authority. Collaborates with the Marketing Manager to ensure there is an appropriate mix of content (delighter, promotional, educational, etc.) across all channels. Reviews all content with the Marketing Manager for the month for accuracy and appropriate mix/promotions etc. Strategizes on digital advertising conversations. Makes recommendations for best practices. Understands Dog Body Language & keeps pet photos fresh and relevant highlighting engagement in all company services including PLAYtrain®, Grooming, Training, Boarding, Clinic, Retail, etc. Takes the initiative to bring our social media content/graphics into new directions. Works with the marketing team to create engaging email and text messaging campaigns. Opportunities for advancement within the marketing team and ongoing professional development support. Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of professional experience managing social media for a brand, business or organization. Bachelor’s degree with relevant coursework in social media, communications, or marketing. Google Analytics Certified preferred. Experience with Hootsuite or similar scheduling tool. Design experience within Canva preferred but not required. Editing experience within Capcut preferred but not required. Experienced in social media platform (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.) and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios. Maintains excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail with the ability to coordinate multiple projects at once. Must be able to work independently, multi‑task, and prioritize responsibilities. Exceptional organizational and time‑management skills. Ability to problem‑solve in a fast‑paced environment. Computer savvy, uses multiple software platforms daily to accomplish business objectives. Team‑oriented, reliable and dependable; maintain excellent attendance and punctuality. Strong work ethic; sets high standards for self and others. Passionate about animal welfare; treats all animals with compassion and kindness. Comfortable interacting with all dog breeds, large and small, as well as cats. Benefits
