Role You’ll Contribute The Expressive Therapist (ET) is a member of the ET Team and is registered/certified in art, occupational, recreational or music therapy. Services include planning and implementation of therapy activities such as group and or individual interactions. You provide an initial assessment of each patient and provide progress updates to the treatment team.

Conduct group therapy, emphasizing expressive therapy modalities in the treatment plan.

Assess needs of patients eligible for group treatment based on physical, cognitive, and emotional status.

Document progress in the treatment plan objectives and interventions; implement and reevaluate.

Assist in crisis intervention, individual counseling, acute care observation, and observational rounds.

Identify and supervise use of materials that may be a danger to those at risk for self‑harm.

Maintain confidentiality guidelines and ethical standards of the discipline.

Communicate effectively with the expressive therapy team lead and the broader team.

Manage supplies within the ET budget and prioritize workload efficiently.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of experience.

Master’s degree in Recreational Therapy (preferred).

Licensure, Certification or Registration Required

Basic Life Support – CPR Certificate.

Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Certification.

Formal De‑escalation Training – must be obtained within 90 days of employment (required).
