The ideal candidate will be able to perform and direct all installation tasks for assigned AV projects. The Lead AV Installer will be expected to lead and direct installation teams, ensure quality and safety measures are followed, perform system testing, provide user training and report daily progress to the Project Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform installation tasks in a timely and quality conscious manner. Duties may include but are not limited to pulling cable, installing connects, projector mounting/ hanging (ceiling mounts) and metal fabrication. Ability to solder and crimp connectors.

Ability to test integrated system and troubleshoot/diagnose complex system problems.

Perform field installation of Control and DSP programs (Q‑SYST, Crestron, Extron). Possess capability to make field changes and perform troubleshooting.

Proficiency in mechanical fabrication and equipment rack wiring.

Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blue prints.

Ability to manage small to medium projects, traveling and working at various job sites within the tri‑state area. Responsible for job documentation as needed.

Act as a customer liaison in absence of Project Manager, demonstrating job site leadership.

Provide positive and effective interaction with internal and external customers.

Communicate daily job site status to the Project Manager and complete required job documentation as required.

Communicate and coordinate with other trades on site.

Act as a mentor for less experienced technicians.

Ensure that safety measures are strictly followed.

Perform client training as needed.

Perform other job‑related duties or special projects as required.

Education and Experience:

Minimum 3 years installation experience.

Manufacturer certifications such as Q‑SYST, Crestron, Extron, Harman, etc.

Strong working knowledge of signal flow and control systems.

Willingness to pursue additional training related to the role.

Ability to think and work independently, meeting deadlines as necessary.

Proficiency with test and calibration equipment.

Ability to test integrated systems and train client on use; develop and write customer operation manuals as needed.

Coordinate CAD drawings and documentation as needed.

Provide field service support if requested.

Must possess a valid Driver’s License and have no adverse driving history.
