The Colorado Department of Natural Resources (CPW) is responsible for developing, preserving, and enhancing the state's natural resources for current and future citizens and visitors. Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) aims to perpetuate wildlife resources, provide a quality state parks system, and offer enjoyable and sustainable outdoor recreation opportunities that educate and inspire stewardship of Colorado\'s natural resources. Position Summary

This position develops methods for determining the best, most accurate answers to the public’s inquiries. It determines the proper referral for information requests. Most requests are handled directly by this position, but in some cases, information requests must be referred to the appropriate CPW employee or other agency staff. The position requires using logic and extensive knowledge of CPW programs and organizational structure for appropriate referrals, and relies on training and knowledge of procedures to determine the most appropriate source to answer the request. A thorough understanding of available information resources including CPW Regulations and State Statutes (Title 33) is required. Responsibilities

Perform as an agent for the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Communications Center. Research and formulate accurate and timely answers to inquiries received through "ASK CPW", phone inquiries, and mail. Use judgment to determine the level of the customer’s needs and the complexity of their questions. May perform considerable research based on knowledge of CPW programs and procedures to respond to information needs. Disseminate Colorado State Parks information, wildlife-related resources, educational materials, and provide customer assistance regarding OHV, Boat and snowmobile registrations, hunting, fishing, and camping inquiries submitted through call-in, mail-in, and e-mail requests. Use established guidelines to arrive at practical solutions to complex problems. Answer specific questions about the status of customer accounts with Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other computer programs. Assist with training new employees as needed. May be assigned to assist with processing chronic wasting disease reimbursements for eligible customers and contacting hunters regarding positive CWD results. Basic Requirements

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights Must be 16 years of age or older Must have a current & valid driver\'s license or reliable transportation Applicants may be subject to successful completion of a comprehensive background check Must be willing and able to work 40 hours per week Must be available to work Monday through Friday – 8 AM to 5 PM Preference may be given to applicants with or working towards a Natural Resources degree or similar education Previous experience working with the public is helpful Possess strong interpersonal communication skills to deliver excellent customer service Experience with Microsoft Office Suites (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Experience with Google Suites (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drive) Bilingual is helpful but not required Supplemental Information
