All About Visual Merchandising The Visual Merchandiser supports a great guest experience by ensuring visual moments meet company guides and visual standards to drive sales and inspire guests. Responsibilities include expert visual presentation, mannequin styling, mapping, fixture blocking, and In‑Store Marketing (ISM) elements.
Key Skills & Experiences
Retail business fundamentals – sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing, and promotion strategies.
Planning and communicating department workload to support business priorities and sales goals.
Training and developing team members to improve visual merchandising skills.
Leading the visual merchandising strategy and implementing visual standards.
Typical Responsibilities
Plan daily/weekly visual workload with leader guidance to include sales goals, events, and promotions.
Execute weekly visual assessments and partner with leaders to improve store visual execution and guest experience.
Assess and guide the execution of visual standards across the store to elevate presentations.
Support the execution of the visual merchandising strategy and ISM across all pertinent areas of the store.
Validate all visual presentations in partnership with leaders.
Set overhead spotlights to highlight key merchandising presentations.
Solve merchandising issues and adjust sets to create inspiring presentations.
Teach team visual standards, signing, and affordability strategies.
Maintain organization of backroom space and current signing tools and fixtures.
Support onboarding, continuous learning, and close knowledge and skill gaps through training.
Demonstrate inclusivity, ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
Work safely, comply with safety policies, and report hazards.
Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests and helping them with their needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

1–2 years of visual merchandising experience.
Minimum age 18.
Business acumen (margin, profitability, etc.) and creativity to inspire guests and drive sales.
Strong understanding of trend and style aligned with our brand.
Leadership and influence to guide store teams.
Ability to communicate on multiple devices and operate handheld scanners and technology.
Independent and team player with good workload prioritization.
Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.
Excellent communication skills.
Calm under pressure and ability to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines.
Additional Expectations
Access all building areas to respond to guest or team member issues.
Operate work assist vehicles (WAV) and pallet jacks.
Interpret instructions, reports, and information accurately.
Handle cash register operations as needed.
Climb ladders as necessary.
Efficiently and safely scan, handle, and move merchandise (up to 15 pounds alone, up to 44 pounds without assistance).
Maintain a flexible and mobile work schedule with reliable attendance.
