Principal Product Designer, Trust

role at

Cash App .

It all started with an idea at Block in 2013. Initially built to take the pain out of peer‑to‑peer payments, Cash App has gone from a simple product with a single purpose to a dynamic ecosystem, developing unique financial products, including Afterpay/Clearpay, to provide a better way to send, spend, invest, borrow and save to our 50+ million monthly active customers. We want to redefine the world's relationship with money to make it more relatable, instantly available, and universally accessible.

Today, Cash App has thousands of employees working globally across office and remote locations, with a culture geared toward innovation, collaboration and impact. We've been a distributed team since day one, and many of our roles can be done remotely from the countries where Cash App operates. No matter the location, we tailor our experience to ensure our employees are creative, productive, and happy.

The Role Trust Design shapes the systems that make Cash App safe, transparent, and accessible. We design experiences that help customers feel confident in how their identity, access, and money are protected—whether they're onboarding, verifying, transacting, or resolving issues.

As a Principal Product Designer, you'll lead design across AI‑native experiences that define how trust, access, and identity function across the Cash App ecosystem. You'll explore how large language models (LLMs), automation, and intelligent systems can remove friction, strengthen safety, and build confidence for millions of users—without compromising clarity or control.

You'll partner with product, engineering, and machine learning teams to translate complex risk and compliance logic into simple, human‑centered flows. You'll prototype new AI‑powered interfaces, design identity and verification journeys, and help shape the broader strategy for how Cash App's trust infrastructure evolves. You'll also mentor and coach designers, raising the bar for systems thinking, visual craft, and execution.

You Will

Design for confidence and clarity, balancing customer safety, access, and autonomy in every experience.

Create AI‑native experiences, designing for and with LLMs, automation, and context‑aware systems—translating their capabilities into intuitive and ethical products.

Think systemically across complex domains like risk, identity, and security, bringing coherence to multi‑surface ecosystems.

Deliver high‑craft design, caring deeply about detail—from motion and hierarchy to how systems scale seamlessly across platforms.

Act as a mentor and multiplier, helping others grow through critique, modeling high craft, and instilling design principles that scale.

Partner collaboratively with product, ML, data, and engineering to ship real outcomes—not just artifacts.

You Have

12+ years of experience in product or UX design.

A portfolio demonstrating impact in trust, identity, access, or safety‑related products.

Experience designing for AI‑driven or automated systems—where context, prediction, and user control intersect.

Mastery in interaction, visual, and systems design, with proven ability to ship high‑impact work.

Fluency in LLM and agentic workflows, and curiosity about how AI reshapes product design.

Exceptional storytelling and cross‑functional communication skills.

A growth mindset—curious, experimental, and adaptable to emerging tools and paradigms.

We're working to build a more inclusive economy where our customers have equal access to opportunity, and we strive to live by these same values in building our workplace.
