The University of Iowa Community Clinics is seeking a patient centered

100% (40 hours a week) Medical Assistant II

to work at our

UICC Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN), Cedar Rapids . This position will mainly support our Cedar Rapids OBGYN Clinic but could float to other patient specialties/clinic locations including but not limited to: Specialty/Outreach, Family Medicine, and/or Pediatrics. For over 100 years, the health and wellness of our patients has been our primary focus. We see patients needing skilled preventive, diagnostic, and treatment gynecologic care. Under the direct supervision of a Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP), RN, NM/ANM, or other licensed designee, the Medical Assistant II functions as a member of the patient care team. Performs technical, patient care and related clerical functions in the urgent care/ambulatory setting by coordinating all elements of the patient visit. Duties To Include

Support our OBGYN patients under direct supervision of physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse. Perform technical, patient care and related clerical functions in an ambulatory setting. Operate or use electronic word/data processing equipment and/or conventional office equipment. Driver’s License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards. Organization Context

Regular salaried position located in Cedar Rapids, IA (and surrounding clinic locations). Percent of Time: 100% (40 hours per week) Schedule: Variable hours, Monday through Friday, between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM, with 8-hour shifts. Standard clinic hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. No weekends, on‑call time, or holidays required. Location

Cedar Rapids, IA (or surrounding clinics based on clinical need or hours). Compensation

Pay Grade: 9 Salary: $40,903.92 - $60,760.80 (at 100% time) / Hourly: $19.59 - $29.10 (based on years of experience). Minimum Eligibility Requirements

Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant OR completion of a recognized one-year Medical Assistant program, OR Completion of a health care profession program with a curriculum including Medical Assistant elements such as pathophysiology, medical terminology, basic pharmacology and medication administration (include educational transcripts during application). Special Qualifications

Driver’s License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards. Demonstrated excellent written/verbal communication. Highly Desirable Qualifications

Ability to demonstrate teamwork and autonomy in all aspects of the role. Minimum 6 months – 1 year of OBGYN experience. Previous EPIC experience. Desirable Qualifications

OBGYN knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures. Previous ambulatory experience. Previous immunization experience.
