Overview We are currently seeking a Design Build Coordinator I for our Southern California Water Division. The Design Build Coordinator I is responsible for achieving intended results related to design selection, design subcontracting, design deliverables, project execution, and Value Engineering. The role supports the DB Management tasks required of DBM or SR DBM on a project‑specific basis, coordinating a singular major scope and possible minor sub‑scopes of design during project operations.

Responsibilities
Complete design and constructability reviews, working with engineers and construction personnel to evaluate design efficiency and constructability to meet intended purpose and construction approach.
Track design schedule on a design‑build project and work with engineers/designer to meet intended budget and schedule.
Coordinate activities between designer and construction personnel, including all post‑design phase process reviews as required by the Owner during construction.
Coordinate cost‑saving strategies on design‑build projects by reducing quantities and scope through design refinement, Equal or Better Changes, and Value Engineering. Work with designer to establish an optimized design approach.
Work with design and construction personnel to evaluate, establish, and implement Alternative Technical Concepts (ATCs) and develop strategy to gain owner approval.
Maintain project design QIR records.
Qualifications
BS in engineering or construction management.
Preferred: Ability to gain a Professional Engineering License and maintain related continuing education, securing additional State licensure if required.
At least 1 year of applicable experience in the construction industry with a minimum of 5 years of practical civil/structural design experience.
OR
At least 5 years of practical construction / Design Build experience.
Salary Range: $103,000 - $155,000 per year.
