Semiconductor Equipment Maintenance Technician – Thin Films (Night Shift) Diodes Incorporated is inviting applications for a skilled Equipment Maintenance Technician to support our South Portland, Maine facility. The role focuses on maintaining thin-film semiconductor manufacturing equipment and ensuring continuous process improvements.

Job Overview As a Night Shift Technician, you will work 12‑hour rotating shifts (3 nights on / 3 nights off), with an initial training period of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for 10–52 weeks. The position provides a 15% shift differential and opportunities to cross‑train in adjacent areas.

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electromechanical, electro‑pneumatic, vacuum, and high‑voltage systems, including servo motors, stepper motors, AC and DC controllers, solenoid valves, and vacuum pumps.

Read and interpret electrical schematics, multimeter readings, and voltage supply outputs.

Adhere to all safety protocols (LOTO, PPE, chemical handling, hazardous gas systems) in a clean‑room environment.

Collaborate with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot equipment issues and recommend process enhancements.

Document maintenance activities, produce root‑cause reports, and maintain accurate equipment records.

Support clean‑room requirements by wearing appropriate clothing, booties, latex gloves, and safety glasses.

Stand for up to 75% of the shift and lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Associate’s Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Technologies, or a related discipline.

Minimum 2–3 years of experience in semiconductor equipment maintenance or a similar high‑voltage, vacuum, or electromechanical environment.

Experienced with semiconductor equipment, including CMP tool sets and tools such as P5000, Endura, and Centura.

Proficient in troubleshooting electrical and vacuum systems.

Strong written and verbal communication; ability to document procedures and work instructions.

Safety‑first mindset: ability to identify safety concerns, follow LOTO, and enforce regulatory compliance.

Comfortable working with chemicals (acids, bases, solvents) and hazardous gas systems (toxic, flammable, pyrophoric, asphyxiant).

Cross‑training willingness and flexibility to work outside regular hours.
