Tech III, Show Operator – AVL Audio Opportunities (Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure) Provides the discipline‑specific technical skills needed to support the daily operation of the assigned entertainment venue and/or event, including the operation and execution of shows. Ensures technical show quality and a positive guest experience by applying intermediate‑level knowledge in the use of control systems for audio, video, lighting, projection, special effects, and show action equipment.

Major Responsibilities

Responsible for the daily operation of the technical elements within the assigned entertainment venue and/or event, and for the successful operation of live performances and/or technical presentations, including completion of pre‑/post‑show presets and resets.

Carefully execute show elements/cues to preserve show quality, maintaining the proper show timing and levels as directed by show direction and venue training.

Ensure proper completion of all technical documentation, including daily checklists, FYI, and other such documentation.

Assist with the maintenance and inventory of venue equipment/supplies, notifying leadership of materials needed or repairs beyond basic maintenance.

Support and communicate with performers regarding their technical needs, bringing concerns to Technical and/or Venue Management or Tech I.

Actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Technical school: preferred.

Associate’s degree: preferred.

Bachelor’s degree: preferred.

Experience

2–3 years’ experience using technical control systems, preferably within the theme park/theater industry in a technical capacity.

Proven ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Intermediate knowledge in technical disciplines needed to operate the assigned venue.

Basic computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office suite.

Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Information

Accountable to strictly adhere to all policies and procedures governing the safe operation of all technical equipment.

May assist in technical training and implementation of all training materials, maintaining and sharing job knowledge and assisting in developing Team Members.
