Customs Entry Writer
to join its Charlotte-based brokerage team.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced
Customs Entry Writer
who takes initiative, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys working independently. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling the full scope of import documentation, entry processing, and compliance coordination — ensuring timely, accurate clearance of shipments through U.S. Customs and Partner Government Agencies.
This position offers autonomy, variety, and the chance to work within a supportive and knowledgeable team.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and process import entries for air and ocean shipments in accordance with CBP regulations.
Review commercial documents and classify products accurately under the HTSUS.
Ensure compliance with all applicable government regulations and customer-specific requirements.
Communicate with clients, carriers, and government agencies to resolve entry issues and ensure smooth clearance.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in the company’s brokerage system.
Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely delivery of goods post-clearance.
Proactively identify compliance risks or documentation discrepancies and address them promptly.
Candidate Requirements
Minimum
3 years of experience
as a Customs Entry Writer within a freight forwarding or customs brokerage environment.
Strong working knowledge of
HTS classification, ACE, and CBP regulations .
Proven ability to manage multiple entries and deadlines independently.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
A
self-starter
with the initiative to problem-solve and work with minimal supervision.
Licensed Customs Broker credential preferred but not required.
