Opportunity CoinDesk, a leading media, events and data company in the global crypto economy, seeks a highly skilled Senior Product Designer. The role involves creating intuitive, compelling, and consistent user experiences across our web and mobile applications, supporting how users consume crypto news, attend events, and use premium data.
Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end design process from concept exploration to final delivery for key features and products across Media, Events, and Data.
Conduct user research (interviews, surveys, usability testing) to deeply understand the needs of crypto enthusiasts, institutional investors, event attendees, and other users.
Create detailed wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes for web and native mobile platforms.
Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, UX Researchers and business stakeholders to deliver on the product roadmap.
Contribute to and govern CoinDesk’s internal Design System, ensuring consistency, scalability and efficiency across all products.
Provide constructive feedback and mentor junior designers, raising the bar for design quality and process.
Use quantitative data (analytics, A/B testing) to inform design decisions and measure feature success.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Product Design or UX Design, ideally within media, financial services, B2B data or a complex platform environment.
A strong portfolio showcasing successful, user‑centered experiences for both web and native mobile applications.
Proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
Deep understanding of UCD principles, information architecture and usability best practices.
Experience managing the full design process from discovery and research to high‑fidelity visual design.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly to cross‑functional teams and executives.
Experience working in an Agile development environment.
Bonus Points
Experience designing products related to financial data, trading, indices or large‑scale digital media.
Familiarity with the cryptocurrency, blockchain and Web3 space.
Basic knowledge of front‑end technologies (HTML, CSS, React, etc.) to facilitate communication with engineers.
Experience designing event/conference platforms (attendee experiences, content platforms, etc.).
Compensation & Benefits The base salary for this position is $180,000 – $205,000, plus discretionary annual target bonus and performance incentives. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualified knowledge.
