Job Purpose UX Designer to partner with content strategy, and usability for existing web sites and applications.
Location Louisville, KY
Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate in user research and usability testing by utilizing various methodologies, and a variety of methods to develop an understanding of user goals and expectations.
Work with stakeholders and team members to share user insights, business objectives, and technical constraints.
Create user flow diagrams, wireframes and prototypes of varying fidelity to express desired behaviors and interactions to support user needs, goals, and expectations.
Design application or service behavior that creates business value for customers and GE, while meeting user needs.
Synthesize stakeholder and user feedback to determine how to enhance design to better balance user, customer and business needs.
Report on project status, issues, and risks. Identify and mitigate UX risks on projects.
Work with internal teams to enhance design and usability of existing internal applications.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Bachelors Degree (Computer Science or Related Field)
Minimum Experience:
3+ Years of experience in UX role designing and launching successful web and mobile projects
Required Role Requirements:
Strong understanding of user-centered design methodologies
Thorough understanding of HTML, CSS, and Responsive Design
Strong communication skills
Proven experience with Photoshop, Illustrator or other similar visual design tools
Demonstrate understanding and experience using responsive web design principles for multiple devices and operating systems
Portfolio of successful responsive web site launches
Preferred Role Requirements:
Experience leading design within a cross-functional development team
Experience advocating and influencing stakeholders on UX best practices
Experience leading design on complex applications using information architecture, user stories and personas
Experience with WordPress and Sharepoint design
Effectively manages different competing priorities and consistently delivers against scheduled deadlines and commitments
Portfolio that demonstrates successful projects with examples of design concepts, prototypes, and final visual assets
