Senior Director, Marketing & Communications Advisor MarketPro has partnered with a global, nonpartisan business think tank on a retained search for a Senior Director, Marketing & Communications Advisor. This is a rare opportunity for a senior marketing subject‑matter expert to shape the conversations and insights that influence the world’s top marketing and communications leaders. Rather than executing campaigns, you’ll advise, curate insights, and facilitate collaboration among CMOs, CCOs, and senior executives across Fortune 500 member companies. The Opportunity As Senior Director, you’ll serve as a strategic advisor and thought leader within the Marketing & Communications Center. You’ll connect senior executives around pressing topics like brand relevance, marketing ROI, AI and analytics, digital transformation, and crisis communications. You’ll shape thought‑leadership content, design executive experiences, and serve as an influential voice within the global marketing community. You’ll partner closely with the Center Leader and cross‑functional experts to strengthen member engagement, drive strategic initiatives, and advance the Center’s mission of equipping business leaders with the insights they need to win.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a trusted advisor to member CMOs and senior marketing and communications executives—facilitating peer collaboration and uncovering actionable insights.

Design and host executive experiences (roundtables, briefings, webcasts, and events) that translate marketing trends and data into strategic discussions.

Shape and contribute to thought leadership content—including research reports, articles, podcasts, and videos—highlighting emerging marketing issues and solutions.

Engage members and prospects to identify critical marketing and communications challenges, connect them to relevant insights, and strengthen overall member value.

Partner with the Center Leader to develop and execute the Marketing & Communications Center’s strategic and operational plan, aligning with growth and revenue goals.

Collaborate with other Center Directors and internal experts to integrate insights across functions and industries.

Represent the organization as a thought leader and spokesperson, participating in industry events, panels, and media opportunities.

Support member onboarding, relationship management, and retention initiatives, contributing to long‑term growth and satisfaction.

Drive operational excellence by refining internal processes, improving collaboration, and implementing systems for performance measurement.

Contribute to new member recruitment efforts, positioning the Center’s unique value proposition and impact.

Ideal Candidate Profile

15+ years of progressive leadership in marketing, communications, brand, growth, or digital strategy, ideally within consulting, agency, or enterprise environments.

Deep understanding of marketing strategy, consumer and customer behavior, brand leadership, and digital transformation.

Recognized thought leader or subject‑matter expert with an ability to distill complex ideas into clear, actionable guidance.

Strong business acumen and ability to engage confidently with C‑suite executives across diverse industries.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience facilitating discussions, moderating panels, or producing executive‑level content.

Demonstrated curiosity, analytical thinking, and intellectual agility; comfortable navigating both conceptual and data‑driven discussions.

Collaborative, low‑ego professional with a servant‑leadership mindset and a passion for elevating the marketing discipline.

Advanced degree preferred (MBA or Master’s in Marketing, Communications, or related field).
