About the Role Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Designer to join their growing mechanical design team. The successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting the design and documentation of mechanical and plumbing systems for data centers, industrial facilities, offices, and other large-scale construction projects. This position offers exposure to multidisciplinary collaboration, professional development opportunities, and the chance to contribute to some of the most complex and innovative designs in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
Support the design and documentation of mechanical and plumbing systems using Revit across various project types.
Develop detailed HVAC and plumbing layouts, including ductwork, piping, and equipment placement.
Perform engineering calculations for load analysis, equipment sizing, and performance optimization.
Coordinate with architectural, electrical, and structural teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
Prepare and edit mechanical equipment specifications, assist with equipment selection, and ensure designs meet energy efficiency goals.
Review submittals, RFIs, and change orders, assist with record drawings, and support site visits and commissioning.
Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and national building codes and sustainability standards.
Collaborate with project managers, clients, and vendors to resolve technical challenges and improve design workflows.
Stay current with industry trends, software tools, and best practices to enhance design processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience with HVAC design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and load analysis tools.
Familiarity with HVAC codes, standards, and best practices.
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent organization, attention to detail, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in BIM, CFD, or Energy Modeling tools.
Certifications from ASHRAE, LEED, or similar organizations.
Experience in green building or energy efficiency design.
Commissioning experience.
Active PE license (or working toward licensure).
