Job Description Technical Publications is a unified team of professionals committed to providing quality and timely publication deliverables for commercial and government projects in a dynamic environment. Team members are responsible for gathering, composing, and editing technical information to prepare flight manuals, maintenance manuals, and other technical documentation for our warfighters.
Essential Functions
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Update Digital Flight Manual and Digital Maintenance Manual data for the Rivet Joint, Cobra Ball, and Combat Sent aircraft fleet, interacting with Engineering stakeholders and Customers to accurately capture data and requirements in a timely manner.
Identify, work within, and lead defined budgets and meet schedule deadlines by employing adaptability and flexibility through change management.
Strong computer skills with solid understanding of MS Office Suite and applications.
Work within and, at times, lead a small team of Technical Writers to identify and incorporate technical engineering changes into digital deliverables.
Attend meetings with customer and Technical Publications management to receive direction and present changes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience; Graduate Degree and minimum 4 years of prior related experience; or 10 years of related experience without a degree.
Minimum 4 years in technical publication authoring experience within structured authoring environments to include Unstructured and/or Structured FrameMaker.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills
Familiarity with S1000D Standard, Webex, and Localized CSDB.
Prior experience authoring Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Aircraft Flight Manuals in an Unstructured/Structured FrameMaker and S1000D environment for military programs.
Experience with the Rivet Joint, Cobra Ball, or Combat Sent aircraft mission platforms, or Flight Operations of the RC-135 or KC-135 airframes.
Strong working knowledge of S1000D Authoring Standard, ATA100, ATA iSpec 2200, MIL-PRF-38807C, and MIL-STD-37874.
