fully remote

The Role In this position,

you'd be the "face" and the "host" of myriad public-facing online events and recordings, and you'd also be their coordinator . Atmosphere Press runs a robust virtual events program featuring

live author readings , presentations with publishing industry professionals, a biannual online conference, and a

podcast , among other offerings at the cutting edge of the virtual events space, all to serve writers. Reporting to the CEO, with the ability for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative, the Virtual Events Manager will work with internal team members, external speakers and attendees, and sponsors to make Atmosphere's virtual events a big success for authors and for the team.

What You'll Do Logistical planning (50%)

Development and scheduling: develop engaging narratives for upcoming events, schedule and monitor all logistical and support service arrangements, write scripts, and monitor Zoom registration and attendance.

Collaborate effectively with clients, collaborators, and sponsors: successfully manage relationships with a variety of contacts, recruit speakers to fill out events programming, secure necessary materials and assets, provide information to inform metrics of success and other analytics, and serve authors as clients to ensure smooth event delivery.

Work collaboratively with the marketing team: create graphics with brand guidelines in mind, coordinate event registration using website landing pages and registration forms, and coordinate newsletter advertisements to a subscribership of up to 60,000 contacts.

Use HubSpot to maintain program data: keep track of extensive contact information, design and monitor automated workflows, manage mass email communications utilizing marketing email tools (including reminders and follow-up), and write and analyze responses to feedback surveys.

Live event execution (30%)

Emcee events live: meet with authors or featured speakers early to demystify all live event logistics, deliver scripts to attendees live, facilitate Q&A sessions combining preplanned questions and solicited audience questions, and monitor Zoom settings to ensure safe and secure proceedings.

Host a podcast: review podcast application to invite guests, maintain a clean setup for recording episodes, and serve as the host of The Write Atmosphere: A Podcast for Writers.

Programming development (20%)

Brainstorm ideas for new event offerings: stay aware of market trends, identify needs and desires of the audience base and deliver programming accordingly, research existing types of events and identify holes in the market to fill, and collaborate with the supervisor to explore ideas for exciting new types of events.

Incorporate audience feedback: analyze feedback forms after live events, set presentation topics and recruit speakers based on interests of the audience base, and make changes to existing systems to improve event delivery and attendance.

Cultivation of a sponsorship base: research organizations and outlets to work with to sponsor Atmosphere events, manage relationships to ensure smooth delivery of sponsorships and encourage repeat sponsorships, and monitor market trends to inform the budget for trade exchanges.

What We're Looking For

Comfort with appearing as the face and name of the events program, including on webpages, in advertising, and during live events, in some cases appearing in communications being sent to up to tens of thousands of people.

Minimum of 3 years of event management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Excellent partnering skills and initiative experience including the ability to meet deadlines, excellent interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated aptitude in handling and resolving details. Attention to detail is a must.

Working knowledge of HubSpot (we'll train you if you're shaky here), Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and Zoom.

Ability to handle multiple projects with proven accuracy, productivity, and high success rates.
