You will bring characters, environments, and effects to life through dynamic animation and optimized asset integration across multiple gaming platforms.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
- Create and implement high-quality 2D artwork and animations across a wide range of subjects, including characters, environments, props, and visual effects.
- Develop and refine gameplay animations such as idle cycles, movement loops, and attacks.
- Import, configure, and optimize animations and assets within the Unity engine.
- Collaborate closely with artists, designers, and engineers to evolve visuals from concept to market-ready production.
- Ensure efficient art integration by understanding and maintaining the full art pipeline.
- Contribute creative input during brainstorming sessions and assist in visual ideation for new and existing titles.
- Adapt to a variety of visual styles while maintaining artistic quality and consistency.
- Apply strong fundamentals in color theory, composition, lighting, and motion.
- Manage multiple projects independently while meeting milestones and deadlines.
- Develop artwork and animations for charitable gaming, historical racing, and entertainment markets.
- 5+ years of professional experience in game art, animation, or technical art production.
- Expert knowledge of Unity and Spine animation tools.
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and After Effects).
- Strong skills in Unity 2D, with familiarity in Unity 3D.
- Experience importing and optimizing assets within Unity; Unity ParticleSystem knowledge is a plus.
- Basic understanding of C# scripting is advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in Animation, Game Art, Technical Art, or a related field-or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong sense of motion, timing, and animation polish.
- Excellent understanding of art pipelines, visual design principles, and game optimization.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively across disciplines.
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple priorities.
- Open to feedback and passionate about continuous learning.
- Creative problem solver who can adapt visual styles as required.
- Strong sense of color, light, and typography.
- Ability to rapidly conceptualize and visualize new ideas.
- Candidates must be willing to complete an art test as part of the hiring process.
- A resume with portfolio showcasing recent commercial work.
- A demo reel demonstrating experience with Spine animation and Unity integration.
- The demo reel must include at least one character rigged and animated in Spine.
- The role is based in Atlanta, GA.
- It is in-office, 5 days per week.
